This is Myrtle the Turtle (yes, DZ sisters, I stole the name). Myrtle is a dear friend to Caden during those last sleepy moments at night. You see, Caden is a bit afraid of the dark and prefers to have some light in the room. Well, Myrtle was given to us just at the right time. Myrtle was a gift from Aunt Cindy (thank you!) one Christmas. At first, I wasn't sure Caden would like her or play with her but we tried it and magic happened. Myrtle shines bright stars and a moon on the ceiling at night in amber, purple, or green. Green is our favorite.
Myrtle even has her own set of games. One such game, is where you spin her around then stop. Caden must find the moon amongst the stars. Another game is where Aaron asks Caden about the stars and the moon. Aaron says "Who made the moon?" to which Caden replies "God made the moon." "How did God make the moon?", Aaron asks. "Good." "Who made the stars?" "God made the stars", Caden replies. Aaron asks again, "How did God make the stars?" Caden replies, "Good." And lastly, Aaron asks, "Who made Caden?" Caden, through a smile, says, "God." "How did God make Caden?" And with a huge grin and possibly a giggle or two, Caden replies, "Special."
But last night, Myrtle had a different purpose. Aaron had told Caden no books (he loves books) because it was past his bedtime. Well, Momma wanted to spend some time with her boy. So, we did sneaky ninja reading. We used Myrtle's green glow to read one book in whisper voice. Caden kept giggling because it was a secret.
Sweet moments with my boy. But, shhhhh, don't tell Aaron.
