So, first of all, I feel like I need to apologize for being a bit MIA for a while. Life has been seriously crazy for a while and I hope this blog explains the why behind my absence.
Here is a bit of an update on all that has been going on in the Hoskins home over the last few months...
- Aaron and I were both training for the Cowtown Marathon and Half Marathon respectively. Due to the crazy ice storm, we both ended up running the half. I remember thinking we were crazy for running in sleeting ran and ice but we did it anyway. We both had personal records despite the weather. But the cancellation of the marathon meant that Aaron would need to continue training for the next several weeks until he could run in another race. He is currently set to run on Sunday, April 12 in the Big D Marathon.
- I helped organize and host the IF Conference at our church. It was a great weekend for the women and I had tons of fun planning and executing with some great ladies!
- Both Caden and Brynna become really sick right before Spring Break. Caden had scarlet fever, which was very scary for this momma. Super high temperatures and a rash over his entire body was not fun. Fun fact: scarlet fever is actually untreated strep. Caden had a very bad case of strep weeks before the scarlet fever showed itself and believe that the medication did not get all the virus out of his system and caused the scarlet fever to show up. Brynna had bronchitis at the same time. It was not fun for about a week in our house.
- Aaron is gearing up for Easter at Hulen Street and my ladies Bible study just started up again today.
- Caden and Brynna spent spring break at my parents house with cousin Ben and they loved every minute.
But while all of this is great, it really isn't the true reason for my absence on the blog. I feel like I've been keeping a secret - a BIG secret - and I'm so excited that I can now talk freely about it...
I'M PREGNANT!
To say I'm excited would be an understatement. I'm thrilled. It's a dream come true for Aaron and I. We've always said we wanted three kiddos and now that is becoming a reality. The reality of it, however, is a bit overwhelming. Three kids means a new car for me, rearranging kids rooms and purchasing new furniture, medical bills, and change for everyone in the family.
With my other two, I was never anxious, only excited. This time, there is a bit of anxiety as I look in the future and see all the change this new life is going to require for us all but I know it will ultimately be good for the entire Hoskins clan.
This has also been my hardest first-trimester. I have been more sick and tired than either of my other two and with the constant demands of motherhood, I've been a bit overwhelmed. While I wanted to write more, the time it took just wasn't there. So, forgive me dear blog readers.
So, now you know our little secret.
Hoskins Baby #3 due early October 2015
Oh, and Caden and Brynna are excited. Brynna keeps lifting my shirt hoping to get a glimpse of baby and Caden tells us over and over "I'm excited about our baby." (Sweetest thing ever!)
