As I hugged Miss B tonight I realized that my baby girl is turning three tomorrow. Where has three years gone?
Her life has been a whirlwind for sure. I was seven months pregnant with her when our life was turned upside down. The first months of her life were hectic, crazy, and emotional. But she was my quiet, peaceful place. When the overwhelming moments came, I knew that I could at least care for her well. I could be at peace with her.
She was a great baby. Content even though she wasn't a great sleeper. Healthy, despite one middle of the night emergency room trip (
details here).

| Brynna's Second Birthday |
Here are just a few things that I love about my Brynna Kate.
- She is strong-willed, but quick to recognized when she's in a fight she will not win. (Translation: she doesn't stay in time out long. She concedes quickly.)
- She is fiercely independent. From the moment she was mobile and able to communicate, she has done things on her own, in her own time, and without assistance. She was opening our back door and letting the dog out at two! And her favorite phrase is "I do it by my own!"
- She is a great communicator. She has been talking in full sentences for about a year now and uses words like "hilarious" and "ridiculous".
- She has comedic timing. This girl can make you laugh! She even makes faces like her daddy.
- She is a cheerful helper. She loves to help you do just about anything, from helping cook eggs in the morning to cleaning up the playroom, she is always willing to help.
- She is kind. She shares with her brother most times without being asked and is considerate of others. She says "please" and "thank you" without being told.
- She is sweet and sometimes snuggly.
- She loves her Bubba and always wants to be with him. And yes, she calls him Bubba...rarely do you hear her say Caden.
- She wears pink and plays with cars. She is this wonderful mix of girly and not. She loves her bows, favors pink as a color, but plays cars, super heroes, and full on tackles her brother.
- She is adventurous. She is always up for trying new things and is rarely scared.
- She is potty-trained. Need I say more? She wanted to potty train soon after she turned two and has been completely trained for almost a year!
- She is competitive but gracious. She loves to compete with her brother in activities but is quick to relinquish her win if it means he will be happier.
- She has a great laugh.
- She has this crazy, wild, curly hair that perfectly matches her beautiful but a bit wild personality. I refuse to cut it because it's such a great picture of who she is on the inside.
- She has piercing blue eyes that seem to look right through you.
- She gives the best kisses. Be ready for a super-pucker pout when she comes in for a kiss. It's the cutest thing!
- She sneaks out of her bed at night to steal one more hug or kiss or drink of water. Or anything really. It's totally an excuse. She waits in the hallways until we acknowledge her and then she runs to us. Best. Thing. Ever! Unless it's been like 10 times then maybe I'm annoyed.
- She is super cute while she manipulates her daddy. She has this way of asking for things in the sweetest little voice and her daddy caves just about every time.
- She is loud. And I mean loud except in the car when I need her to be. Yes, it's annoying and frustrating but it's her and I love it.
